Mission Statement of Maza Chagl Eska Oyate
Maza Chagl Eska Oyate or Iron Circle Nation is a non – profit organization with the
stated purpose of preservation of Native American Culture and language and whose purpose is the use of Native Culture, Spiritual
Ceremonies, Traditions, and Values to bring healing to our people who are in need of regaining a positive identity as Native
People.
The name Maza Chagl Eska Oyate refers to our incarcerated Native People. Maza (Iron) refers to the
prisons made of razor wire, walls, and bars. The beautiful healing ceremonies that we use are brought into the prisons
to bring healing to our incarcerated men and women.
Maza Chagl Eska Oyate is host to Native American Spiritual Elders. Native American
Ceremonies and Sacred Teachings are past down through oral tradition. Maza Chagl Eska Oyate is
hosting the 11th Annual Many Winters Native Elders Gathering honor and provide a forum for our Native Elders to share their guidance and teachings to our Los Angeles community.
